I'm Lucia,
nice to meet you.

I'm a Service Designer (UX) & Researcher with over 4 years of experience working for small and large sized corporate clients across various industries. Over the years I have developed skills in understanding user behaviours, conducting thorough research, mapping user/process insights and aligning stakeholder groups to create innovative solutions that make an impact. I'm sure the project spotlights in this portfolio have provided an idea on how I navigate client problems but see below for a further breakdown on my journey so far and my interests outside of work.

My journey in Service Design (UX) and Research so far

I knew I wanted to progress a career that focuses on human-centred design and experiences following a 'Human Computer Interaction' module within my BSC Computing and Management degree. The behavioural element to digital interactions fascinated me so I started my journey as an Insight Associate for a startup called Simply Get Results. In this role, I carried out qualitative and quantitative methods of research to inform the design of a machine learning tool that would be used to help clients make business decisions.

Following the completion of my degree, I joined frog, part of Capgemini Invent as an associate Service Design consultant and progressed to leading Service Design work streams within projects since joining over 3 years ago.

What I've been working on recently

I've recently been working with many public sector clients that are on a digital transformation journey. I have been leading the Service Design work streams on these projects providing a view of what needs to be designed and built by the teams I'm working with to deliver value and align with the strategic goals of these programmes. With a lot of my recent work being in the public sector, I have found my work really rewarding as some of the projects - such as the Health benefit online journey project - is targeted at helping some of the most vulnerable citizens in the country. This has been a real motivator for me when the work has sometimes been very demanding.

What I'm curious about

I'm really curious/passionate about including underrepresented groups in research! Accessibility is super important but it is something that I feel like is slowly becoming a buzz word in design. Everyone knows that we need to design for everyone but I believe we need to include more of the people that are underrepresented into research from the offset so that their needs are captured and not assumed.

What do I love outside of work

I'm fortunate to enjoy my day job but there are many things I love doing outside of work. My main thing for anyone that knows me is my love for travel and taking pictures of said travel - I just love it. I feel inspired every time I come back from a new destination and the memories made while away, are unmatched. I'm also a lover of music concerts - R&B and afrobeats specifically, a good romance/drama book, fashion, beauty, wellbeing (spa breaks), history and politics.
